Pick Your High-Power Build
This is the Ebike conversion kits store page to start from when the frame, wheel size and dropout decide what actually fits. It walks through the 29-inch 72V 5000W kit, its Sabvoton SM7280 controller and the matching 72V triangle pack, so a build can be qualified before anything is ordered. If you only need to swap a worn pack, the same specs also cover ebike battery replacement on an existing 72V platform.

Three checks decide whether a 5000W kit fits
Wheel size, dropout width and brake mount are the three measurements that rule a kit out. Everything else on this page only matters once those three pass.
Wheel size
This kit is offered as 20″, 24″, 26″, 27.5″ or 29″ on Sunringle MTX39 rims with 36H×12g spokes. Measure the rim diameter of the bike you are converting; a 29″ kit will not roll in a 26″ frame.
Dropout width
The rear hub needs a 150 mm installation width. A 135 mm frame needs a different dropout or a frame spread — confirm yours with calipers before ordering, because the motor will not squeeze in.
Brake mount
Mechanical disc brakes work with the standard kit; the optional Tektro 4-piston hydraulic set adds 203 mm front and rear rotors with caliper adapters. Check rotor clearance at the frame and fork.

The three parts that set the build quality
Controller, brakes and throttle are where a 5000W kit either feels controlled or feels like a liability.

Sabvoton SM7280
72V 80A, 18-tube sine wave controller with self-learning. Sine wave drive keeps the motor quiet and smooth at partial throttle compared with square wave units.

Tektro HD-E740 brakes
Four-piston hydraulic calipers with 203 mm rotors and power cut-off sensors. At 90 km/h the brake package matters more than the motor.

Surron-type throttle
Right and left Pro Taper grips with a Surron-style twist throttle. Progressive throttle mapping makes 150 N·m usable off-road instead of on/off.
Matching a battery and charger to a 72V build
A 5000W controller pulls current the pack has to supply. The published 72V 30Ah triangle pack is sized for this kit; other 72V packs in the store use the same voltage but different form factors.
| Option | Voltage | Form factor | Charger |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30Ah triangle pack | 72V | Triangle bag, 49×41×30 cm | 84V 5A smart charger (optional) |
| Stealth B-52 26Ah | 72V | Frame-bag pack for B-52 style frames | Confirm charger with order |
| Stealth B-52 31.5Ah | 72V | Frame-bag pack, higher capacity | Confirm charger with order |
| Stealth B-52 48Ah | 72V | Largest frame-bag option | Confirm charger with order |
| No battery | — | Use an existing 72V pack | Use your existing charger |
Builds this kit is normally fitted to
Electric mountain bike
29″ MTX39 wheel and 150 mm dropout suit plus-size MTB frames; the 5000W motor is normally run on trails and fire roads rather than technical singletrack.
Electric enduro / dirt bike
90–95 km/h at 1100 rpm with 150 N·m is the combination riders use for enduro builds, where torque matters more than top speed.
City and commuter conversion
Lower wheel sizes (20″–26″) keep the build manageable in traffic; the SW900 display and PAS sensor suit daily commuting duty.
What the supplier needs from you
- Wheel size you need: 20″, 24″, 26″, 27.5″ or 29″
- Measured rear dropout width (150 mm required for this kit)
- Brake type: mechanical disc, or the Tektro hydraulic option
- Whether a 72V 30Ah triangle battery and 84V charger are included
- Display choice: SW900 VR or TFT UKC1
- Throttle: standard twist or Surron-type with Pro Taper grips
- Destination country, consignee name, phone and full address
Fitting and first ride
A 5000W rear hub is a heavy wheel. Fit the torque arms, route the phase and hall cables clear of the rotor, and check the door-lock ignition before the first charge.
- Torque arms must be fitted on both sides — the motor can spin a dropout without them
- Phase wires (blue, green, yellow) and hall connectors must match the controller labels
- Set the controller to self-learning before the first throttle application
- Check spoke tension and rotor alignment after the first 50 km
- Battery and charger are separate line items; confirm both when ordering

How do you match a 29 inch MTB frame to a 5000W hub motor kit?
Dropout width, wheel diameter and torque arm clearance decide whether a 29-inch 5000W wheel fits a mountain bike frame without modification.

Why a 90 km/h build needs four-piston calipers and larger rotors, and what to check before fitting them.

Read articleCommon questions about this kit
What wheel sizes does the 72V 5000W kit come in?
The kit is offered as 20″, 24″, 26″, 27.5″ and 29″ on Sunringle MTX39 rims with 36H×12g spokes. The example on this page is the 29-inch version.
Does the kit include a battery?
No. The standard kit ships without a battery; the 72V 30Ah triangle pack and the 84V 5A charger are optional line items, which is what makes the price range 399 to 1,249 USD.
What dropout width does the rear motor need?
150 mm installation width. A 135 mm frame needs a different dropout or a frame spread, and the motor will not fit without it.
How fast will a 5000W kit go?
The published figures are 920 / 1100 rpm and up to 90–95 km/h (about 60 mph), with 150 N·m maximum torque. Real speed depends on wheel size, battery voltage under load and rider weight.
Can I replace the battery on an existing 72V build?
Yes. The controller and motor work with 72V packs; order the kit without a battery, or choose a Stealth B-52 frame pack in 26, 31.5 or 48Ah. Match the charger to the pack voltage and chemistry.
Do I need the Tektro hydraulic brakes?
Mechanical disc brakes are standard and work at the lower end of the speed range. For repeated stops from 90 km/h the four-piston Tektro set with 203 mm rotors is the safer option and is ordered as an add-on.
